Self Driving Taxi Makes Its Way to Dubai

In recent news, we have seen that the US is trying to make driver-less car a possibility. You probably have been waiting to drive in one of those driver-less cars made by Tesla but don’t want to spend over $100,000 to own one. Well now you don’t have to, if you live in Dubai that is. Dubai is now working on a model of driver-less taxis that not only drive themselves but fly on their own! Dubai is known to have very crowded streets, so taking a taxi would not save you much time when in hurry. However these self-flying taxis, planned to be all over by July, can carry one person with luggage and will definitely save time. There already has been test drives with the taxi all around Dubai. Now, you can get even closer to Dubai’s famous skyscrapers all at the touch of a button.

Passengers simply enter their destination before taking off. The taxi is able to fly for about 31 miles (30 minutes) on full charge at a maximum speed of 100 mph. The taxi also comes equipped with safe technology that will land the taxi if there is a malfunction or chance of one.

The video below shows that they have actually tested the self-flying taxi around Dubai and should be ready for use soon. The only question left unanswered is whether or not the self-flying taxi will become available in places other than Dubai. Who knows, maybe once the US finishes it tests on the self-driving car and is released, the self-flying taxi will be available in the US.
