Buffalo Seminary being an all girls school provides their students with many things to think about in relation to women and the rights and equality women face everyday. Our mission as girls in a science class is to expose girls to the field of science. Research and statistics show that science is a field that lack representatives of the female gender. We are starting a campaign called "Girls 4 Science" in order to spread the word about jobs available to girls in the field of science. We hope to do this through social media, exposure of our research, events, presentations, speakers, and basic education. We hope you join us and find our information useful.
Jobs in Science
Artists, historians, writers, librarians, mathematicians, designers, anyone can become a scientist. There are a multitude of jobs under the science umbrella that do not necessarily restrict you to a lab setting working with chemicals. Very few girls are exposed to alternate fields under the science umbrella and that is what we would like to do in our Girls 4 Science campaign.
