Science Lawyers

There are many different types of fields girls can go into under the “science” umbrella. An interesting job that one may not think involves science, is becoming a Lawyer.

After receiving a science degree, many people (including women) can be a key asset in a courtroom as well. The article below is a prime example of a successful scientist turning into a successful Lawyer.

Loretta Weathers worked in a physics lab studying plasma at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She now works for the federal courts as a patent lawyer.

Weathers describes how her background in science and math has helped her win large cases. Her mind has been an asset to many court cases, and shows that a degree in science can be used in many more ways than one. Weathers has connected her science knowledge to society, and expanded the meaning of what it is to work in a science field.

Working in science does not restrict you to a lab performing experiments, just like Loretta Weathers girls can work in a courtroom and still earn a degree in science.
