The New England Patriots seemingly played a cheating game on Sunday, January 18th, in which their footballs were not inflated to the NFL standard. Investigations into why their footballs were deflated involved science—the PV=nRT formula. Watch as Andrew Baglini experiments with thermometers and the Ideal Gas law (PV=nRT) in an unlikely situation to conclude that the weather was not at fault for the underinflated balls and the Patriots' resulting win over the Colts. What an interesting application of direct relationships and formulas in science!
